Reach Stone County Record Holders

Stone County Busted Mugshots is a private reference site, not a government office. We cannot confirm custody, arrange a release, post bond, or retrieve an official booking record. Direct those requests to the government office that keeps the specific record.

Choose the Stone County Custodian

A record request works best when it is sent to the office that actually maintains it. For a current county booking, jail status, or booking-photo question, begin with the Stone County Sheriff or the correctional facility. Sheriff Todd Stewart's office is at 1420 Industrial Park Road, Wiggins, MS 39577. The sheriff's main phone is 601-928-3191, fax is 601-928-6455, and published weekday office hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

The related facility is identified on official sources as Stone County Regional Correctional Facility, Stone County Correctional Facility, or Stone County Detention Center. It shares the Industrial Park Road address. For facility information, call 601-928-7042, extension 0, during weekday business hours. Ask whether the Sheriff or facility is the custodian for the requested booking photograph or record. A roster entry is not a final court result, and a court office should not be assumed to hold the photo.

County public-records requests

Stone County's Public Records Request form is a countywide written-request starting point. It describes a seven-working-day response framework, lets requesters select electronic or hardcopy delivery, and asks them to approve reproduction costs. The form directs scanned requests to justice@stonecountyms.gov and lists 231 Third Street South, Wiggins, MS 39577, 601-928-4415. Because that contact is associated with Justice Court, do not assume Justice Court owns sheriff booking photos. Identify the record, booking date or date range, and desired format, then ask that the request be routed to the correct sheriff or facility custodian if needed.

Other official record routes

City-police records may take a different route. The Wiggins Police Department lists Chief Tim Hill at 303 First Street, Wiggins, MS 39577, 601-928-5444, and thill@wigginspolice.com. It does not publish a verified arrest-log or booking-photo feed, so ask the department for its records custodian when a Wiggins record is absent from the county roster.

For a criminal case, contact the Stone County Circuit Clerk at 323 E. Cavers Avenue, Wiggins, MS 39577, 601-928-5246, during weekday business hours. Circuit files cover felony matters after indictment and misdemeanors on appeal, so a recent booking may instead be at Justice Court or another lower court. For a state-custody record, use MDOC's written-request route through its General Public page or contact the MDOC Records Department, P.O. Box 24388, Jackson, MS 39225, 601-933-2889, MDOCRecordsDepartment@mdoc.state.ms.us.

The most direct channel depends on the question.

  • For a person now listed in county custody, use the official Stone County Tiger Roster and then verify status with the Sheriff or facility.
  • For a booking within the source's short window, review the official 72-hour booked or released roster view. A no-result does not prove that no arrest occurred.
  • For a booking photo or underlying booking record, make a narrow written request to the actual sheriff or facility custodian and request electronic delivery if allowed.
  • For a court disposition, bond update, indictment, or judgment, ask the Circuit Clerk, Justice Court, or the applicable municipal court, based on agency and case stage.
  • For a Mississippi state inmate, use the MDOC inmate locator or MDOC records office, not the county booking path.
  • For federal or immigration custody, use the official BOP locator or ICE detainee locator. Those systems are separate from Stone County booking records.

The Mississippi Ethics Commission's Public Records Act guidance explains the written-request framework. It is useful when asking an agency to identify a withholding or to provide the non-exempt portion of a record. Booking charges are accusations, and current custody or release information must be confirmed with the responsible office.
